Nothing Serious (연애 빠진 로맨스)
Written and directed by Jenny Ga-young
Wow, what a breath of fresh air! Okay, I might be a bit biased because I’ve been a huge fan of Jeon Jong-seo since “The Call” and Son Suk-ku since “My Liberation Notes,” but “Nothing Serious” truly lives up to its name – refreshingly honest, quirky, and emotionally resonant. Under Jenny Ga-young’s masterful writing and direction, the film boldly steps away from the tired clichés often associated with romantic comedies. It peels off layers like unwrapping a gift, revealing a story that hooks deep into emotions beyond mere surface attraction. Instead of sticking to the same old stories, it dives into the complexities of human relationships with realness and charm. Ga-young’s directing style makes me feel like I’m right there with the characters in every scene. And as the story unfolds, it teaches me that true love is about real connections, not just big gestures.
