The Impossible Heir 로얄로더
Written by Choi Won and directed by Min Yeon-hong Lee Hyang-bong
While I’m not particularly fond of revenge drama genres, I can’t shake the feeling that they often blend together. This one revolves around the struggle for control of Korea’s largest conglomerate. The last one I truly enjoyed was “Reborn Rich”; it felt refreshingly original, and anything with Song Joong-ki tends to be a hit. However, I must admit, this Disney Plus production is impeccably executed. As someone who enjoys tracking actors’ career trajectories, Lee Jae-wook has consistently impressed me since his debut in “Memories of Alhambra”. I make it a point to follow everything he does; “Alchemy of Souls” remains one of my all-time favorite South Korean dramas. Back to the plot, “The Impossible Heir” skillfully intertwines themes of intrigue, betrayal, and ambition. While I personally perceive the revenge genre as somewhat worn out, this production injects fresh vitality into the formula.
